چکیده

Mesons are the most fundamental objects allowing a study of quark and gluon con-nement and, more generally, the strong interaction at low energy. The spectroscopy of light mesons is a challenge: the glueballs predicted on the basis of Quantum Chromodynamics are expected amidst the light mesons. However, identifying light mesons and determining their quantum numbers are particularly diicult tasks due to their extremely short lifetimes. The strangeness quantum number is easy to detect and indicates the presence of a strange quark. Thus the eld of (openly) strange mesons is relatively well explored. However that of mesons with hidden strangeness, more directly relevant to the glueball search, still needs more experimental input, in particular from studies of nal states with kaon{antikaon pairs.

Strangeness in Hadronic Interactions

Strangeness has always been an important subject at all PANIC conferences as it probably constitutes the best link between particle and nuclear physics. I will thus use the theme of the conference by considering strangeness as a tourist through the world of strong interaction. During this talk we will accompany strangeness from production, to the royaume of mesons and baryons up to the complex ...

Probing nucleon strangeness in φ electroproduction

The subject of the strangeness content of the nucleon and nuclei has been one of the important issues in hadron and nuclear physics [1]. Production of φ meson from nucleon target has been suggested as a sensitive probe to study the strangeness content of the nucleon. Because of the ideal mixing with ω, φ meson is nearly a pure ss̄ state and its direct coupling to the nucleon must be suppressed b...

and Λ ∗ resonances in the hidden charm sector around 4 . 3 GeV

Abstract The interactions of D̄Σc-D̄Λc, D̄ Σc-D̄ Λc, and related strangeness channels, are studied within the framework of the coupled channel unitary approach with the local hidden gauge formalism. A series of meson-baryon dynamically generated relatively narrowN∗ and Λ∗ resonances are predicted around 4.3 GeV in the hidden charm sector. We make estimates of production cross sections of these pred...

Strangeness Form Factors of the Proton in the Chiral Quark Model

The chiral quark model describes the strangeness components of the light quarks as fluctuations into strange mesons and quarks. The single strange pseudoscalar and vector meson loop fluctuations of the constituent u-and d-quarks give rise to only very small strangeness form factors for the proton. This result is in line with recent experimental results, given their wide uncertainty range.
